Primary Purpose of Organization Unit:
Healthy Start works with families who are expecting and/or have children under 18 months to provide support through health education and case management.

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Case Manager will work with program participants to support their health and wellness related needs.

Job Description:

Public Contact: Medical Health Program Consultant will be responsible for the implementation of Healthy Start local countywide lay health and consortium building in Robeson County. This position will require numerous presentations to community organization to adequately develop a diverse group of consortia members, which are reflective of the population served. Medical Health Program Consultant will provide outreach for program participants. The focus will be on lay health education regarding pre/post natal care, nutrition and various other aspects of maternal child health including expectant mothers and parents training and educational sessions. The Medical Health Program Consultant will be responsible for conducting community wide consortia meetings and presentations and participate in the development of numerous regional statewide meetings; the Medical Health Program Consultant may adapt or deviate from guidelines and exercise independent judgment within parameters established by the program director. Reports and Records: The Medical Health Program Consultant will study narrative information from diverse sources; conduct random interviews; and draft reports on multiple projects of the consortia. This position will require advising service providers on technical and administrative issues affecting program development, implementation and evaluation of the project. The position will require selecting and applying independent organizational techniques in preparation of the data collected, edited, analyzed and reported thus requiring experience with data collection, internet resources, statistical procedures and grants management.

Records Management: The Medical Health Program Consultant will be responsible for maintaining a records management system, organizing information, printed materials, internet resources and other program related records and expenses. The Medical Health Program Consultant will maintain project files, statistics on project.

Communications: Medical Health Program Consultant will be responsible for all aspects of communication in carrying out the objectives of the project. Medical Health Program Consultant will exercise a thorough knowledge of the principles of English composition to present information effectively orally and in writing in implementing a comprehensive marketing campaign.

Supervision: The Medical Health Program Consultant Director provides broad program guidance and policy, both written and verbal. The Medical Health Program Consultant executes the policy with independence to resolve policy issues in the absence of the director, or alters guidelines to unique situations.

Other: The Medical Health Program Consultant will be required to work under normal pressure to meet the contract deadlines for grants, contracted services and specializes other aspects of the project.

This is a grant funded time-limited position through March 31, 2024.

Management Preference:
Prior experience with home visitation. Prior experience with Case Management.
