Job Summary
The Michigan Opioid Prescribing Engagement Network (Michigan OPEN) was formed in 2016 with goals if improving acute care prescribing (surgery, dentistry and emergency medicine), increasing disposal of unused opioids, and educating the public about the risks and benefits of opioids. Michigan OPEN is funded by MDHHS and leverages the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Value Partnerships to disseminate best practice to all of the major hospitals in the state of Michigan.

Responsibilities*
The Michigan-OPEN Clinical Subjects Coordinator will be responsible for screening, enrolling, and following participants within various clinical projects. This position will assist MIOPEN staff in fielding questions, implementation of project changes, and reporting to stakeholders. The Clinical Subjects Coordinator role will also serve as the point of contact for temporary research assistants and participate in the overall project performance review, analysis, and writing.

Clinical Project Support
  • MiCAPP:
    • Weekly screening of participants
    • Track enrollment and follow-up timelines for patients
    • Responsible for patient follow-up
    • Serve as point person for:
    • Training
    • Ensuring clinic staffing
    • First point of contact for questions
  • AOS-II:
    • Weekly screening of patients
    • Serve as point person for:
    • Training
    • Ensuring clinic staffing
    • First point of contact for questions

MiCarePath Pilot Support
  • Assist with programming research surveys
  • Weekly screening for participants
  • Track enrollments and follow up timelines for patients
  • Train research assistants to enroll participants in the clinic
  • Assist in:
    • Responding to participant questions
    • Implementing any protocol changes

Transitions of Care (TOC) Support
  • Assist with assembling interview transcripts
  • Standby for TOC screening tool pilot pathway development

Analyses and Writing Assistance:
  • Analysis
  • Manuscript
  • Qualitative interview analysis

Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related healthcare or science field.
  • One year of professional/administrative experience.
  • Ability to be consistently detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Desired Qualifications*
  • Experience with safe management of protected health information preferred;
  • Experience in research regulation and compliance, operations management, and scientific writing a plus.

Additional Information
This is a one year term limited position,the incumbent is not eligible for RIF status.

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
