About the Position:
The Capital Programs and Facilities Management Department is committed to planning, developing, and maintaining a safe, sustainable, and high quality learning and working environment for the campus community. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Building Trades Manager. The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude, an active, energetic mind, and a leadership style that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Under direction of the Assistant Director of Physical Plant, the Building Trades Manager will oversee the building trades function in Facilities Management, including the operation, maintenance, service, repair and inspection of Building systems throughout the campus. The position will supervise in-house projects, related equipment and processes. This position will be responsible for the daily direction of the building and construction function including setting and monitoring progress toward goals, budget, purchasing, work flow, process and procedures, training, attendance, evaluations, hiring, safety and contract services within the unit. The position will be the primary contact for all issues across the campus related to the building and construction functions. Oversees the operation, maintenance, balancing, inspection, trouble shooting, adjustment, testing, calibration, maintenance and completion of work orders for the following systems and related equipment: Building envelope, roofs and interior buildings architectural systems including walls, floors, ceilings, doors, windows, sky lights and all related building components. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in a large facility with a minimum of two (2) years experience supervising multiple building trades, facility operations, maintenance and/or construction. Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization. Excellent customer service skills. Experience in computer applications related to Facilities Management.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.

Special Working Conditions:
The scope of responsibilities for this position includes the making or participating in the making of decisions that may have a material financial benefit on the incumbent. Therefore, you will be required to file an initial Conflict of Interest Form 700: Statement of Economic Interests within thirty (30) days from date of hire and on an annual basis; and complete the CSU sponsored ethics on-line training within thirty (30) days of appointment, and at least once during each consecutive period of two calendar years following the appointment.
