Job Description:
Brown University Athletics and Recreation is seeking candidates for the Athletic Trainer position. Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-DI).
This role provides medical care and health education to ensure the safety of, reduce the risk of injury to, and guide the rehabilitation of Brown student-athletes under the guidance of the Associate Director of Athletics, Sports Medicine. The position will serve as primary athletic trainer for sports as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree, required
- RI Athletic Training License required (to be obtained prior to hire date).
- Board of Certification "BOC" for athletic training NATABOC Certification, required.
- Maintain BOCNATABOC Certification Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every reporting period, as required.
- A minimum of one year of relevant athletic training experience is required.
- Appropriate Emergency Cardiac Care certification as required by the BOC.
- A manual therapy certification preferred
- All division employees are required to demonstrate exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations; the duties of the position are to be performed in compliance with all NCAA and Ivy League rules and regulations; and any rules violations on behalf of themselves or any knowledge of violations within the division are to be reported to the appropriate parties.
- Employees in coaching positions are required to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification Test, maintain current AED/CPR & First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division), and attend all required divisional and/or NCAA training/education programs.

Employees in coaching positions must receive annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting by the compliance office and maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (certification is available at no cost through the Division).
