Job Description:
The Administrative Coordinator provides administrative, logistical, and course support to faculty members and their research laboratories as well as collaborative support as part of the department administrative team. Primary duties include financial management of orders and reimbursements for laboratories as well as website and publication database maintenance, scheduling and planning travel arrangements, monitoring of account budgets, event planning, managing the approval process for service contracts and software purchases and trains research staff in lab ordering processes. The Administrative Coordinator serves as a liaison between the research staff ordering, vendors, the MCB finance team, BioMed Research Administration, Office of Sponsored Programs Administration, Supplier Management, Strategic Suppliers group, Accounts Payable, the Controller's Office as well as with the Brown Contract Management and Office of Information Technology.
Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years' administrative support experience, preferably in an educational environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous Workday experience is advantageous.
Job Competencies
- Strong computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), financial programs, database management and web- based applications.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to think independently and creatively.
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines and projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills including having a pro-active and team approach to tasks.
- Must be detailed oriented.
