Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The main purpose of this position is to supervise the gift shop, manage the staffing in the gift shop assist the Patron Services Supervisor in the concessions, bar, when they are unavailable. Manage the inventory of gift shop, price items, and maintain inventory. Execute opening and closing out end of day cash and credit deposits.

  • Oversee gift shop merchandising, including product pricing, inventory management, receiving shipments, and operating the POS system. Create appealing retail displays to promote sales, and develop price cards and tags for all merchandise.
  • Directly supervise, train, and schedule the temp on-call staff in the gift shop.
  • Open, close, and oversee cleaning of the gift shop.
  • Work shifts as a manager in the concession/area as needed to help cover Patron Services Supervisor.
  • Deliver a high standard of exceptional customer service to all patrons. Provide prompt, professional, and courteous responses to all patron concerns and needs. Adhere to all emergency procedures intended to ensure the safety and comfort of patrons.
  • Select, source, and order merchandise that aligns with the performing arts center's programming with approval from MAC director and supervisors (e.g., books, music, art, themed gifts, branded items) Develop and maintain relationships with vendors.
  • Work events for Lakeside Pavilion. Plan and execute special promotions, pop-up shops, or artist signings. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote shop merchandise in alignment with performances, exhibitions, and seasons.
  • Organize and maintain gift shop inventory in storage areas.
  • Distribute, collect and count banks before and after performances. Work with the Box Office, Concessions, and Patron Services Supervisor to ensure banks and profit are ready for deposit.
  • Responsible for gift shop inventory and sales reports. Provide projections and sales reports to assist with developing annual budget.
  • Attend weekly MAC Staff and monthly Front of House meetings.
  • Maintain Basset certification.
  • Ensure compliance with all ADA accessibility requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Associate's Degree required.
    • Experience
      • Two to three years customer/patron service experience required.
      • CPR Certification, Basset Certification (will provide).
      • Proficiency in spoken and written English required.
      • Cash handling/concession experience required.


    Working Conditions:

  • Telephone, computer, bar, and gift shop equipment and AED Defibrillator.
  • Considerable public contact, flexible hours, evenings/weekends/holidays as performances and events are scheduled.
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.


  • Part-Time Work Schedule: Flexible schedule, but one weekday/some nights/weekends will be required.

    Hiring Range:
    Starting pay begins at $21.70/hr. based on experience.
