The University of Colorado Boulder is searching for an Advance Practice Nurse! This position involves the practice of medicine/advanced nursing, and duties are performed in accordance with: 1. established standards and ethics of medical and nursing practice, 2. personal qualifications, and 3. the administrative policies and operational procedures of Medical Services. Within this framework, duties are carried out with considerable latitude for independent professional judgment and action.

Medical Services provides a wide range of health care services for students including: primary care for illnesses and injuries, as well as chronic conditions, physicals, sexual and reproductive health care, allergy shots, vaccinations, travel health care, and concussion care.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Patient Care:
- Perform thorough and accurate medical evaluations and design a treatment plan according to medical guidelines and standards. Communicate with and educate patients regarding their medical condition, follow-up care, and preventive measures.
- EMR documentation: Prepare and maintain thorough, accurate, and clear medical records which justify the diagnoses, treatment(s) and billing codes.
- Make appropriate use of Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Physical Therapy, and other ancillary services in clinical decision making.
- Seek appropriate consultation for unusual or unresponsive cases while following established referral procedures.
- Participate with other staff nurse practitioners and physicians sharing a proportionate patient load and clinical responsibilities.
- Participate in accredited continuing medical education to acquire and maintain professional knowledge and skills.
- Maintain current and appropriate nurse practitioner credentials including a Colorado Nursing License, prescriptive authority (including annually updated articulated plan), National Certification and DEA registration.
- Participate in the implementation of the Medical Services Process Improvement activities.
What You Should Know
This is an in-person "90/50" FTE position with an anticipated work schedule of 4 days per week during the 90% time from August through May, and 2-3 days per week during the 50% time of June and July. This role is not expected to work University recognized holidays or evenings.
What We Can Offer
- The salary range for this variable schedule position will be $92,350.8 - $135,000 at the 90% rate, and will be prorated for partial months worked in the summer. This position will be 90% time during the academic year, defined as August - May, and will be 50% time in the summer months, defined as June and July.
- Salary is dependent upon candidate's years of APN licensure.

What We Require
- Registered Advanced Practice Nurse with State of Colorado upon hire.
- Eligible for full prescriptive authority in the state of Colorado within one year of hire.
- DEA Registration or eligibility within one year of hire.
- National certification as an Advance Practice Nurse.
- Current BLS certification.
- Eligible for clinical privileges as determined by the WHS Credentialing and Privileging Department.

- Basic functional computer skills (experience with Windows based systems).
- Ability to communicate and relate well with staff and students in an academic environment.
