Job Duties


Under the general direction of a dean or director, the adjunct Counselor should be prepared to provide comprehensive academic advisement and counseling services to students from a wide range of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Counseling duties may include:
  • academic, career, and personal counseling
  • development of student educational plans
  • making referrals to on campus/off campus services
  • and other related responsibilities

You may find our current course listings in our Academic Catalog`. Part-Time faculty will also be expected to collect and submit data on student learning objectives as needed.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for all disciplines may be found within the "Minimum Qualifications for Faculty and Administrators in California Community Colleges"

The minimum qualifications for this position are: Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling,
OR
The equivalent. (NOTE: A bachelor's degree in one of the listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT)is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)
