(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Responsible for assisting in performing a variety of clinical and technical functions associated within the exercise physiology and biomechanics laboratories. Instructs students on technical processes and procedures associated with exercise testing while using specialized software and equipment. Maintains laboratory space assigned to the program and assists with the delivery of programmatic laboratories. Maintains inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment. Ensures compliance with all laboratory regulations. Oversees maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment. Assists with laboratory requirements for projects. Develops and updates laboratory preparation guides.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
1. Assists in performing a variety of professional and technical functions for a multi-science instructional laboratory program or a research laboratory operation
2. Maintains laboratory facilities and may supervise other laboratory staff such as a laboratory coordinator and laboratory technicians, as assigned
3. Purchases laboratory supplies and equipment if assigned
4. Maintains instructional laboratory space
5. Ensures supplies are available as required for laboratory courses, capstone projects, and research
6. Assists in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures
7. Ensures compliance with all laboratory regulations
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Exercise Physiology or a related field
Other Required Qualifications
American College of Sports Medicine Certified Exercise Physiologist
Current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification
Required Experience
Three (3) years relevant experience preferably working in an exercise physiology laboratory
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Three years teaching experience in the area of exercise physiology
Three years of supervisory experience in a laboratory, or related experience
Laboratory experience at an institution of higher education
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Ability to comply with safety, purchasing and related protocols
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Responsible and professional
Ability to work independently
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of software associated with standard exercise physiology equipment
Theoretical and practical knowledge associated with exercise testing
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
