Summary of Responsibilities

Provides recruitment counseling, planning, and advising to potential students. Assists students in the completion of their admissions application and provides instruction regarding applications for financial assistance.
Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials.
Visits middle schools, high schools, and colleges and speaks to groups and/or individual students and serves as a liaison to those schools. Coordinates outreach activities with school counselors to promote university partnerships. Coordinates community workshops and retreats and arranges visits from prospective students and parents.
Assists with maintaining recruiting records of prospective and current students and/or potential degree candidates.
Creates and distributes resource materials for student recruitment programs. Develops mentorship programs and analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs. Develops strategies for program evaluation.
Prepares reports and proposals and responds to inquiries from students, parents and state and community agencies.
Participates in the development of operating goals and objectives and recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree, OR any combination of post high school education and experience totaling four years.

Availability Requirements:
This position requires evening and weekend hours, as well as occasional out-of-state travel.

Licenses or Certifications:
Must possess a valid driver's license.

Knowledge

Knowledge of student recruitment, admission and retention issues.

Skills

Skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
Skills in configuration and use of computerized database programs.
Organizing and coordinating skills.

Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
