About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position.

This position will serve as an Assistant Women's Golf Coach and is responsible for supporting the program by assisting in all aspects of teaching, coaching and evaluating student-athletes under the discretion of the Head Coach. Additionally, this position is responsible for coordinating and implementing all operational, logistical administrative functions, including team travel, expensing, team meals and all other operational relevant to the team. This position will assist the Head Coach in all areas of running a successful and competitive Division I golf program.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as an assistant coach in all aspects of teaching, coaching, evaluating and working with student athletes in the sport of golf; Assisting in all aspects of practice and player development including coaching JV tournaments.


  • Coordinate team travel arrangements, administrative and budget/expensing responsibilities. Planning and executing all transportation, lodging, securing travel advances and assisting with team meals and other needs before, during, and follow up. Assist in overall ops of the golf program, creative initiatives and administration.


  • Represent the SMU Women's Golf as a liaison for administrative meetings and with other internal departments (i.e. Creative, Public Relations, Fundraising, Marketing, etc)


  • Act as liaison with all team organizational and technical software, including but not limited to: TeamWorks, ARMS, and Microsoft Office, Photoshop and Adobe


  • Other duties as assigned by Head Coach



Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's is required.

Work experience in the golf industry preferred. Division I experience is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Must also demonstrate strong written communication skills.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Must also have strong organizational, planning and time management skills. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is essential.
