Senior Grid Resilience Program Manager

Job Summary

The Utah Smart Energy Laboratory (U-Smart) at the University of Utah is seeking a proactive and organized individual to join our team dedicated to designing the reliable and resilient power and energy systems of the future.

The Senior Program Manager will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive support to the U-Smart Lab, overseeing administrative duties, organizing events, engage stakeholders, handle communication with internal and external partners, and assisting on research and development programs and projects in collaboration with academic, industry, and government partners and stakeholders. Ideal candidates will excel in resource and time management and contribute to the success of our initiatives and programs.

    Responsibilities
    Provide administrative support to the lab, assist with project management, and initiate and lead programs. Manage partnerships with relevant institutions and stakeholders on behalf of the lab. Organize, schedule, or facilitate symposiums, workshops, webinars, seminars, trainings, or listening sessions. Maintain and organize confidential data pertaining to the workshops and trainings. Ensure compliance with program-specific regulations, grant requirements, and prepare and submit reporting. Respond to inquiries and handle communication with stakeholders and partners. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support the overall mission and objectives of the laboratory.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree + two years of related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience).

    Preferences
    Preferred Qualifications:

    Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) plus three years of experience in program management required. A Master's degree is preferred. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Communication, Marketing, or similar. 3+ years of experience in project or program management. Experience supporting administrators, directors, or faculty leaders. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse stakeholders. Ability to utilize strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing environments and foster a collaborative, inclusive work culture.
