Job Summary:
The University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications for a full-time faculty position that combines academic leadership with direct engagement in teaching and scholarship. As Director of Curricular Innovation and Strategy, the successful candidate will lead the modernization of the PharmD curriculum-shaping its structure, content, and delivery to better prepare graduates for a rapidly evolving pharmacy landscape. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in health professions education while also contributing as a teacher, scholar, and leader within an academic pharmacy program nationally recognized for excellence.
The Director will dedicate 40% of their time to curriculum leadership and 60% to academic responsibilities, including teaching, scholarship, and service. For qualified candidates, up to 25% of time may be dedicated to clinical practice or experiential learning in their area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of a modern PharmD curriculum that incorporates innovation, promotes adaptability, and meets the evolving needs of learners and pharmacy practice.
- Collaborate with academic leadership, committees, and instructional designers to ensure curriculum alignment with accreditation standards, educational best practices, and national competency frameworks.
- Maintain a comprehensive curriculum map that supports scaffolding, integration, and alignment with accreditation and licensure requirements.
- Partner with faculty to develop and assess innovative approaches to content delivery, student engagement, and learning outcomes assessment.
- Communicate curricular priorities and developments to internal stakeholders and provide updates to leadership teams.
- Teach in the PharmD program through lectures, active learning sessions, experiential instruction, and course direction; mentor students and advise on academic progress.
- Engage in scholarly work that evaluates and disseminates educational innovations and learning outcomes; participate in service to the School, University, and pharmacy profession.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3-4 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Associate Professor:
- Terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in pharmacy, education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy education
- Current faculty rank of Associate Professor
Professor:
- Terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, EdD, or equivalent) in pharmacy, education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy education
- Current faculty rank of Professor
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading curriculum design or reform initiatives in pharmacy or health professions education.
- Evidence of scholarly activity related to teaching, learning, or curricular innovation, including publications or presentations in peer-reviewed or professional forums.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated expertise in curricular design, mapping, integration, scaffolding, and outcome-based education.
- Deep understanding of ACPE accreditation standards, COEPA, and the NAPLEX content outline.
- Strong familiarity with educational innovation and active learning methodologies.
- Awareness of current trends in pharmacy practice, pharmacy education, and interprofessional education.
- Strategic and systems-level thinking with the ability to lead curricular transformation initiatives and engage stakeholders in change management.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and data management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Proven capacity to plan and implement projects, make sound decisions, and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Consistent respect for individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences.
- Ability to support an inclusive, collaborative culture that enhances community and promotes positive experiences for employees, students, and patients.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Associate Professor: $149,570 to $155,634
Professor: $173,373 to $232,263
This position is eligible to receive an additional administrative stipend.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
