Job Summary

This position will be part of the National Science Foundation funded project: "CAREER: Using otolith chemistry to reveal the life history of Antarctic toothfish in the Ross Sea, Antarctica: Testing fisheries and climate change impacts on a top fish predator." As part of this project, the temporary researcher will process fish ear bones to reveal sections for aging. The researchers will also age the fish and analyze the age data to develop age and growth curves and parameters.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Processing fish ear bones, aging fish using earbones, and analyzing age and length data.

$19/hour - $21/hour.

What We Require

Experience reading and aging using toothfish earbones.

What You Will Need

Basic understanding of Antarctic toothfish life history, expertise in aging Antarctic toothfish via processing and reading fish earbones, experience generating age and growth curves and parameters.
