Job Summary
The Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a full-time Instructor (Teaching Assistant Professor) to co-teach in MCDB CURE Labs: MCDB 1161 Phage Genomics Lab I and other upper or lower division undergraduate courses based on the department's needs.
MCDB provides a number of Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) labs. The Phage Genomics Lab is part of the HHMI sponsored SEA PHAGES program. In this course, students isolate and characterize novel bacteriophages from environmental samples using current molecular biology techniques.
The curriculum of each of the CURE lab courses is already developed but adaptations and growth are welcome and encouraged. Responsibilities for these courses include teaching a lecture once a week to combined sections and supervising and assisting graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants. CU is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment.
