Job Description:
APPOINTMENT: Nine-month visiting professor position beginning, August 16, 2018

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Visiting Professor will teach undergraduate Stress Testing, Principles and Leadership of Cardiovascular Exercise and graduate courses in Exercise Physiology and Cardiorespiratory Physiology.

Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate must have a Master's degree in Kinesiology (or related field) with a specialization in Exercise Physiology by the time of appointment.
Candidates must have experience in Exercise Stress Testing and EKG (administration, techniques, and interpretation).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD or ABD is preferred.
Teaching experience in a university setting.
Experience with non-invasive cardiology.
ACSM Clinical or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification desirable.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body).

Additional Information:
THE DEPARTMENT: The Department's 21 full and part-time faculty members serve a department of over 300 undergraduate majors specializing in physical education teacher education, exercise science and fitness, and athletic training; and approximately 100 graduate students in exercise science, pedagogy sport and exercise psychology, sport management, and wellness promotion and fitness management. The Department, with undergraduate and graduate programs at the Macomb Campus and graduate programs at the Quad Cities Campus, has well equipped lab facilities supporting teaching and research related to athletic training, biomechanics, human performance, and pedagogy. Equipment available for conducting research in exercise physiology includes: 12-lead ECG systems, 4 vital sign stations (capable of recording EKG, automated BP, pulse oximetry, and respiration), 2-D Echocardiogram machine with color flow Doppler, treadmills, Parvo-Medics metabolic measurement system, a climate-control chamber, Monarch cycle ergometers, Nova Bio Medical Lactate Plus, three Cholestech LDX lipid analyzers, and body composition assessment equipment including a hydrostatic weighing system, a Bod Pod, and several Tanita BF-350 bioimpedance analyzers. Additional research equipment includes 2-D Peak Motus video analysis system with an analog collection module, AMTI force platform, an 8-channel Myo-Pac Jr. EMG system and a Biodex isokinetic device. Macomb is an Amtrak city with twice-daily service to Chicago. Macomb is located approximately 75 miles from the Quad Cities International Airport (Moline, IL) and 70 miles from the Greater Peoria Regional Airport (Peoria, IL).

WIU-Quad Cities (Student Population: 1,332): The only public university in the Quad Cities area, WIU-QC offers select undergraduate and graduate programs, including a doctorate in education and a doctorate in environmental studies, at its metropolitan, non-residential campus in Moline, IL (population 44,000). The Quad Cities (population 376,000) rests on the banks of the Mississippi River and is comprised of Moline and Rock Island in western Illinois and Davenport and Bettendorf in eastern Iowa. Moline, Illinois is home to the Quad Cities International Airport.
