Vice President for Academic Affairs

St. Norbert College seeks a dynamic, innovative, and strategic academic leader to serve as Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA). Reporting to the President, the VPAA will lead academic affairs at this healthy, financially stable, and cutting-edge institution. St. Norbert College is a Catholic, Norbertine liberal arts college situated on a beautiful, riverside campus in De Pere, Wisconsin. Cultivating a culture of shared governance, the VPAA will develop, articulate, and pursue the college's academic strategic plan and lead efforts to evolve the curriculum. The VPAA will demonstrate a record of progressive responsibility in higher-education administrative leadership including hiring, developing, retaining, promoting, and diversifying faculty. This individual should also possess significant experience and expertise in undergraduate education. The VPAA will build an evidence-based culture of leadership, decision-making, and development grounded in a deep commitment to inclusive excellence. She or he will steward accreditation and assessment efforts, ensure compliance with accrediting bodies, and oversee the college's retention and completion agenda. The VPAA will have experience in disrupting existing systems when necessary, will have cultivated successful external partnerships, and will be able to design and implement academic and faculty-based strategies to grow the endowment. The successful candidate will step into the position with a strong teaching faculty, a supportive Board of Trustees, and the exciting opportunity of serving as the senior academic architect of St. Norbert College. Candidates should hold a terminal degree and qualify for appointment at the rank of full professor at St. Norbert College.

About Academic Affairs: St. Norbert College is organized into four academic divisions – Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Visual & Performing Arts – and the Donald J. Schneider School of Business & Economics. St. Norbert offers more than 40 programs, backed by one of the best four-year graduation rates in the Midwest and supported by eight academic centers. Undergraduate degree programs lead to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Music, and Bachelor of Science. St. Norbert College employs 209 faculty, 141 of whom are full-time. Ninety-two percent of the full-time faculty members hold a doctoral or other terminal degree in their field. The student-to-faculty ratio is approximately 13:1. St. Norbert College faculty members are practicing teacher-scholars; their research informs their teaching. Undergraduate students are provided with opportunities to collaborate with faculty on research and creative projects. The student body consists of 2,134 undergraduate students and 96 graduate students. Nearly all of the students live on or near the campus, which creates a strong sense of community at St. Norbert.
