The Regulatory Coordinator for Human Subjects is responsible for understanding and making appropriate application of federal and state regulations for the ethical conduct of research involving human subjects at the University. He/She provides the initial reviews for University research involving human subjects and works with investigators in applying regulations (e.g., Common Rule, HIPAA Privacy Rule and COI) to safeguard the rights and welfare of research participants.

The position involves proactive communication with the campus community to assist faculty, staff and students in preparing human subject research protocols and to educate research staff, deans, department directors, investigators, administrators and students as a means of maintaining a high level of awareness regarding the ethical conducts of research and safeguarding human participants.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in scientific or health related field and 1-3 years administrative/regulatory experience, preferably with an academic or health organization. Knowledge of research regulations (e.g., 45 CFR 46, HIPAA, conflicts of interest) preferred.

Strong organizational, analytical, reading comprehension and communication (written and oral) skills.

Ability to work independently.
Strong commitment to providing excellent service to faculty and administrators.
