Job Summary:

The Program Assistant will aide in the optimal execution of the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation program (MSEI) and will assist the experiential and programmatic needs of the Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA) at University of San Francisco's School of Management. MSEI is a one-year graduate program, which combines elements of a traditional graduate instruction with an innovation and entrepreneurship practicum-focused design, including entrepreneurial internship placements, new venture launches conducted by students, and business immersion trips. The MSEI Program is designed to launch student careers in entrepreneurship and management immediately following the program completion. The Master of Nonprofit Administration has been the first graduate degree program specialized in the managerial and leadership formation for nonprofit, nongovernmental, social sector and public benefit organizations. Currently in the its 33rd year of edition in the part time version of the program. The Full Time version of the MNA, beginning in Fall 2016, has numerous experiential and nonprofit collaborative components embedded in the curricula. These are designed to adequately prepare nonprofit leaders and professionals while providing capacity development services to selected nonprofit and social enterprise organizations.

The program assistant will perform all daily functions necessary for the optimal running of the program working directly with the Program Directors of the MSEI and of the MNA. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, have prior experience working in high performance organizations, will possess strong organizational skills, excellent customer relation skills, and have an excellent attention to detail. The position will be located in the USF 101 Howard Campus with some meetings and work to take place on main USF campus and other Bay Area venues.

Job Responsibilities:

As a program assistant for MSEI and MNA, the initial work will be in the area of project management and overall program support.

Specific to the MSEI Program:

The assistant will support the initial development of all materials related to the launch of the MSEI in August 2017.

The assistant will maintain files of student internship and consulting project placements, and all necessary documentation pertaining to 20-25 external organization clients, where students work during both programs, creating surveys, other program materials, and assessing data on student and client needs and levels of satisfaction with the practicum experience.

The assistant will also directly support the development and launching of up to 25 entrepreneurial ventures as part of the MSEI each year.

The assistant will interface with marketing, recruitment, student affairs, and other teams at the School, supporting the program directors efforts in coordinating different aspects of the programs respective operations.

The role of the assistant will also include interfacing with the programs full-time and adjunct faculty and program mentors to ascertain that their instructional support needs are met and documenting/ facilitating the mentor-student, and the student-external client-related matching designed and finalized by the program director.

The assistant will support the directors work organizing company visits and arranging for the necessary logistics pertaining to the visits. The Assistant will follow up with clients, will prepare the materials for the visits, and will do the necessary post-visit follow-up.

Specific to the MNA Program:

Assist the MNA Program Director in the administrative task for the maintenance and developments of the MNA program. This includes the report and communication with the University and School administration, the communication, formation and assistance of MNA faculty, relation with the MNA alumni, relation with the MNA Advisory Board, and the leadership of the Nonprofit Student Council.

Collaborate with the MNA program director in the successful phases of the program in dialogue and collaboration with the admission office, graduate student affairs, career program, and alumni office.

Suggest, coordinate and manage relation with nonprofit organizations and projects relevant to the experiential learning components of the MNA program especially in the practicum, capstone, and internship courses.

Assist the MNA program director in the communication and reporting of the program including the financial reports, social media communications, and program evaluation reports.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate will have four years of increasingly responsible experience in administrative support work or relation education, including at least two years in a senior administrative support role. A responsible self-starter with an interest and willingness to work with a diverse group of faculty, students, alumni and organizations would be a good match for this position. The candidate should be able to work flexible hours on some occasions and be open to new projects and support tasks as those evolve in the program. Post high school education preferred.
