Class assignment may include beginning to advanced levels of Hip Hop. The Grossmont College Dance Department currently offers four levels of Hip Hop Dance 094ABCD, Hip Hop I-II-III-IV


GCCCD recruits for Part Time Faculty positions year-round. Applicants will be kept in the pool for a period of one year, and contacted for interviews on an as-needed basis.

Job Summary:
Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of part time faculty to perform tasks which support advancement of the visions, missions, and values of the colleges and District. Part time faculty have responsibilities in regards to their classroom assignment, evaluation of students, curriculum, student advising, professional development, and any assignment-specific needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasis, OR

Bachelor's in dance, physical education with a dance emphasis, or theater with dance emphasisAND Master's in physical education, any life science, physiology, theater arts, kinesiology, humanities, performing arts, or music OR

The equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:
Adjunct instructor in Hip Hop needed.
Grossmont College/Dance Department

The candidate should have significant experience in performing and teaching the following:

Hip hop technique including breaking, street styles, urban choreography, and improvisation.

The ability and experience to create and evaluate dance concert critiques.

The ability to conduct vocabulary and history exams pertaining to hip hop culture.

The ability and experience in choreographing hip hop choreography for a concert setting.

The ability and experience in teaching the history and culture of hip hop.

The ability and experience to adhere to an academic dance department with an emphasis on the instruction of technique, improvisation, choreography, and dance criticism.
