Conditions of Employment
This is a part time, temporary, non-exempt position. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.

Reporting to the Director of Outreach Services, the Outreach Support Personnel provides academic and motivational support to program participants in grades 9 through 12, and assists in preparing students for productive positive futures in post-secondary education and assists them in becoming independent learners.

Major duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide academic and motivational support to program participants Organize and present college awareness activities.
- Monitor students' progress and attendance.
- Complete Education Action Plans.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and events, including Saturday and Summer Academy programs, workshops, field trips, campus tours, recruitment presentations, and award ceremonies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student and parent program participation, and prepare outreach reports as needed, using Excel and Word programs.

Performs other secondary duties as assigned.

Duties will primarily take place in an office setting however additional duties may be performed in various locations on the Sonoma State University campus, including working both indoors and outdoors. The normal work schedule is hourly intermittent to meet operational needs of the department. As a non-exempt employee, any request for overtime will be specified and pre-approved by Appropriate Administrator. Your specific start time is determined by your Appropriate Administrator. Evening and weekend hours may be required and will be specified only by the supervisor to meet operational needs. The incumbent must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such levels as is determined by the Appropriate Administrator.

Qualifications
This position requires two years' experience working with working with a diverse student population, including those from at-risk, low-income, first-generation backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner with participants in grades 9 through 12, parents, schools, and business professionals required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) programs required.

The incumbent must possess good communication skills, both oral and written; the ability to learn and apply program information and instructions; solve problems; prioritize multiple work responsibilities; maintain confidentiality at all times; complete projects in a timely and effective manner with good attention to detail; and the ability to adapt and be flexible in an ever-changing work environment. Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred. The incumbent must successfully clear a fingerprint clearance.

Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the university and establish and maintain productive and effective, inclusive working relationships amongst diverse populations including staff, faculty, administration, students, and other internal and external constituents. Must be able to accept constructive feedback and work cooperatively in group situations.
