Job Summary/Basic Function:
Everett Community College has an exciting opportunity for an IT professional.
This position provides journey level expertise for the Everett Community College Information Technology Department and serves as a critical member of the Web Development and Data Services team that has overall responsibility for the EvCC public and private Web sites, including database optimization, application development, and integration of third party software.
Typical duties:
Minimum Qualifications:
Four years of information technology experience such as analyzing, designing, installing, programming, and/or maintaining computer software applications
Knowledge and experience with secure coding practices (OWASP top 10)
Experience with server side programming languages ColdFusion and PHP.
Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
Experience with T-SQL development.
Experience with version control software (git / svn).
Experience with Linux server setup, support and administration (RHEL / Ubuntu).
Experience with web design accessibility (Section 508 / WCAG 2.0)
Good working knowledge of security best practices in web and software development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users and work with clients to define comprehensive requirements
Experience with all stages of the software development life-cycle, from analysis & requirements through maintenance
Evidence of successfully working with diverse teams and work environments.
Ability to work both independently, with minimum supervision, and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to plan, design, build, test and maintain both small and large (i.e., enterprise) projects.
Ability to manage tasks for multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Web Design & Development, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
Four or more years of experience designing, installing, integrating and supporting database, web and HP systems.
Web development experience with Adobe ColdFusion.
Experience working in or with Higher Education

Work Hours: Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Summer schedule is compressed, Monday through Thursday. Must be available for non-scheduled after hours support of hardware and software.
