Responsibilities:
The focus of the position is to support faculty in research, integration of systems, and applications as well as provide support for distance education platforms and case management with our vendors and University Technology.
- Provide user support to faculty, staff and others on distance learning platforms including but not limited to the course management system (Desire2Learn), video-conferencing platforms for teaching and learning.
- Serves as point of contact for internal support cases carried out by University Technology and support cases with external vendors regarding distance learning platforms and technologies used at Western Illinois University.
- Provides user support to faculty, staff, and others for online proctoring applications such as Respondus Lockdown Browser, Monitor, and Honorlock as well as any other internal applications.
- Provides support to faculty, staff and others for basic learning tool integrations for faculty using external publishers, course packs, etc.
- Supports faculty in navigating the implementation of guidance and technologies recommended by ODES.
- Reviews and updates support documentation and website that houses support materials and training materials.
- Interfaces with University Technology regarding coordination of support cases such as, but not limited to the online course managemenT system, Zoom, Google Meeting, online proctoring systems, etc.
- Collaborates regularly with vendors such as Desire2Learn, Respondus, Honorlock, TurnItIn, etc. regarding open support cases.
- Researches, provides recommendations and tests new applications and features of existing applications and reports technical concerns and planning documentation on how these technologies would interface with existing technology and implementation.
- Creates, reviews, and updates documentation and website(s) that house support materials and training materials.
- Responds independently to user calls and questions distance education software, guidelines and standards.
- Collaborates with other distance education staff members regarding issues encountered.
- Participates in training events as needed to stay current with distance education platforms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
1. High School graduation or equivalent

2. Any combination totaling two years from the following categories:
- Progressively more responsible work experience in an Information Technology (IT) related profession.
- College course work which included Information Technology (IT), or closely related discipline, as measure by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
  - 60 semester hours or Associate's degree equals one (1) year
Starting Salary: $3206/monthly
