Job Summary:
Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion is a fast growing division at California State University, Fullerton. We are seeking a human resources professional who is reliable and possesses extraordinary customer service and communication skills to join our team as a Human Resources Coordinator. This position should have a positive attitude, and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

The Human Resources Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for the division of Human Resources, Diversity and Inclusion. Greets customers with enthusiasm and identifies their needs via phone or in-person. Provides an array of administrative support to Employment, Classification/Compensation, Labor/Employee Relations and Compliance, Diversity and Inclusion, Academic Employment, Risk Management, and Professional Development departments. Coordinates an important part of the onboarding experience which includes reviewing and preparing sign-in documents, checking electronic sign-in process, setting up the conference room and welcoming new hire. Responsible for distributing mail, providing guidance on recruitment processes and status updates, posting career opportunities, receiving and maintaining confidential information/data and entering data in automated Human Resources systems and databases. Assists with the training of student assistants. With our diversity job boards, reconciles job postings to ensure website platforms are updated and accurate.

Responsible for maintaining and archiving files, gathering data to create reports, and interacting with and solving problems for customers and department staff. Uses customer service and problem solving skills to respond to applicants and customers via email, telephone, and in person. Coordinates and schedules meetings and events. Coordinates and works with individuals at all levels within the organization. Other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:
High School diploma or the equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Thorough knowledge of office systems with the ability to use a range of technology, systems and software packages. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to apply a variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to perform standard business math including calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports. Ability to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
