Job Summary/Basic Function:
Everett Community College has an opening for an Economics Instructor.

This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Dean of Business and Applied Technology. Responsibilities include:
- Teaching courses in the primarily areas of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, and may teach secondary classes in Business.
- Advising business students regarding their programs and course selection
- Participating in curriculum development and all other tasks related to instruction in accordance with faculty contract and College policy.

Courses are delivered in hybrid and online formats utilizing Canvas as the Learning Management System. In addition, this position requires actively participating in student academic advising.

Together with a motivated and innovative faculty team, we are seeking a dynamic instructor committed to student-centered learning approaches who will support the EvCC Mission where we educate, equip, and inspire each student to achieve personal and professional goals, contribute to our diverse communities and thrive in a global society.

Outside of teaching, we are looking for a team member who can contribute to the college by continuously improving the quality of instruction, helping students achieve their academic and professional goals, and representing the college in the community.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters in Economics or closely related graduate degree.
- Evidence of commitment to, and involvement in, professional, campus and department meetings.
- Demonstrated experience in using computer technology in classroom instruction.
- Demonstrated experience, and/or classroom strategies for effectively instructing students across the range of diversity to include: cultures, ethnicity, age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, class, and religion.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience in private enterprise, general management, marketing, human resources, sales, accounting, finance, non-profit organizations, government, entrepreneurship or related areas.
- Recent experience teaching economics and/or business at the community college or university level. Recent experience is defined as one or more years of teaching or training at the post-secondary level.
- Experience with advising students for degree and career success.
- Commitment to a culture of continuous improvement in both learning and the profession of teaching.
- A philosophy of education appropriate to adult learners at a community college.
- Evidence of commitment to grow and change along with involvement in professional and campus activities.
- Previous experience with online teaching platforms such as Canvas.
