Job Summary:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under an assigned supervisor, regular/contract instructors participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the visions, missions and values of the college and District. This position will entail teaching lecture courses in Business and possibly in other disciplines in the Department. The successful candidate will also have share responsibility for developing and maintaining state-of-the-art business programs for the department, and will include development, implementation and articulation of curriculum, and development of facilities. The department has a commitment to the use of technology in education and to integration of curriculum between related disciplines wherever possible. It is expected that this position will help to grow the department. This position may include a combination of day and evening assignments, online classes, large lectures and small seminars, and is being offered by a college strongly committed to the "open door" concept serving a diverse student population. Instructors will be expected to perform other duties consistent with their faculty job description as stated in the faculty contract.

Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: APPLICANTS MUST MEET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

Any Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in Office Technologies (including secretarial skills, office systems, word processing, computer applications, and automated office training); OR

Any Associate's degree and six years of experience in Office Technologies; OR

A current California Community College Credential that permits full time service as an instructor in Business Office Technology; OR

The equivalent.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must demonstrate:

* Distance Learning education and experience such as hybrid and other modalities.

* Experience teaching a wide range of Business Office Technology courses.

* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

* Demonstrated sensitivity to and experience in motivating students with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

* Demonstrated commitment to the goals and philosophy of the community college.

* Commitment to staying current in the Business Office Technology discipline, particularly with regard to software and such innovative teaching methodologies as open entry/open exit and distance learning environments.

* Experience that demonstrates successful, active participation in community and/or professional organizations and institutions of higher education.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office XP 2013/2016, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates will also be evaluated for qualifications in the following:

* Experience in leading cohort programs in an educational setting.

* Ability to become involved in the furtherance of departmental and campus affairs, including curriculum development.

* Experience working with the business community, including Business Advisory council and internship programs.

* Experience preparing grant proposals; fundraising for specialized programs such as office professional training.

* Experience preparing budgets.

* Non-traditional classroom teaching experience, including but not limited to the following: Open Entry/Open Exit labs, Hybrid courses, Distance/On-line learning.
