Responsibilities*
GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN), Department of Systems, Populations and Leadership is seeking an outstanding scholar with an established or emerging program of research in health disparities. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, mental health, sexual and reproductive health with a focus on adolescents.

Applicants will have an active or emerging program of peer reviewed and externally funded research. The University of Michigan is a research intensive, enriched and highly collaborative environment. We are looking for highly productive faculty members who are energized about their science and enthusiastic about mentoring others. These individuals will move their programs of research to the University of Michigan and use it as a role model for development and mentoring. Teaching is available at the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral levels.

The search for this position will occur during the 2019-2020 academic year. We are soliciting applications from established scholars and emerging scholars. Applicants will be considered for the rank listed above, dependent on applicant experience and research productivity. Applicants must have demonstrated research productivity and training activities. Applicants are expected to secure extramural funds to support their research programs. Required Qualifications*
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctorally (PhD) prepared.
  • For nursing PhD's, a current MI nursing license is required or eligibility for a nursing license in the State of Michigan.
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty regarding visionary educational programs.
  • An emerging record of scholarly attainment in the realm of scientific investigations, and publications. *A reputation for scholarship achievements and emerging contributions in their field of expertise.
  • A commitment to establish an extramurally-funded research program.
  • Prior to start date must be in compliance with all health requirements including standard precautions such as Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, orientations, licenses/certifications, policies and procedures both internal and external to the University for your assigned classroom(s) and/or clinical site(s).
  • An emerging record of first-author, data-based, peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, networking and relationship building skills.
  • An emerging record of academic, professional and community service.
