The Human Resources Department seeks an experienced and visionary leader to serve as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources Operations & Technology. This strategic leadership role is responsible for reimagining and leading the delivery of HR services and technology in support of the university's diverse workforce, including faculty, staff, and academic personnel.
The Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) will oversee the HR Shared Services unit and People Technology operations, championing a forward-thinking, service-oriented model that enhances the employee experience, ensures operational excellence, and fosters innovation in HR service delivery. The AVC will lead the implementation of a scalable, tiered service delivery model that supports the university's academic, research, and administrative missions.
This is a key leadership role within the Division of Human Resources, requiring exceptional collaboration across central HR, academic units, HR partners, and institutional stakeholders.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Strategic Leadership & Transformation:
- Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for HR Shared Services and People Technology in alignment with university goals and HR priorities.
- Lead the transformation from legacy service models to an integrated, tiered HR delivery framework that emphasizes user experience, operational efficiency, and data-informed decision-making.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within HR teams.
Shared Services & Operational Excellence:
- Oversee the design and delivery of core HR transactional services, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience for faculty and staff across campus.
- Partner with HR Centers of Expertise (COEs), HR Business Partners, and academic and administrative leaders to identify service opportunities, streamline processes, and improve service delivery.
- Define clear process and standards for all employee transactions and create training and documentation to enforce data integrity and consistent HR practices across the campus community.
- Implement and manage portfolio governance, resource prioritization, and performance metrics to ensure transparency and impact.
People Technology & Digital Enablement:
- Lead the People Technology function, aligning system strategies with institutional HR goals.
- Ensure the effective implementation, integration, and optimization of platforms such as ERP and best in class software solutions, and other enterprise tools to enhance automation, self-service, and data quality.
- Partner with IT and external vendors to support HR system enhancements, upgrades, and innovation initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build and develop a high-performing team of HR Shared Services professionals, HRIT/HRIS and People Partners, with an emphasis on equity, excellence, and service.
- Champion workforce development strategies that enable agility, cross-functional collaboration, and responsiveness to evolving university needs.
- Promote employee engagement and retention through inclusive leadership and career growth opportunities.
Change Management & Communication:
- Design and lead change management initiatives in collaboration with key partners across campus.
- Develop comprehensive communication strategies to build understanding and alignment during transformation efforts.
Data, Reporting & Insights:
- Leverage dashboards and analytics to evaluate HR service performance, identify trends, and inform strategic decisions.
- Ensure timely reporting on key transition metrics, service delivery outcomes, and employee experience indicators. Establish a reporting cadence of key Human Capital metrics to share with HR leaders and key partners.
What We Can Offer
The annual starting salary range for this full-time position is $175,000 - $195,000. A sign-on bonus is available within department guidelines.

What We Require
- Master's or JD degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Positions at this level typically have at least 6+ years of progressively responsible job related experience, including supervision experience.
- Experience managing large HR transformation efforts, including system implementations, process redesign, and change management initiatives.

- Communication: Clearly articulating information, active listening, and adapting communication styles for different stakeholders.
