Position Announcement

As a Marketing and Communications Manager at Utah Valley University, you'll play a key role in supporting programs that make a meaningful impact in education and the community. In this embedded role, you'll serve as the dedicated marketing partner for the School of Education and the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism, developing and managing strategic marketing plans that highlight the vital contributions of K-16 educators and special needs professionals.

Working within UVU's central Marketing and Communications team, you'll collaborate closely with clients, faculty, and staff to strengthen enrollment, engagement, and visibility for these programs. This position offers the opportunity to combine creative strategy with purpose-driven work-advancing initiatives that empower educators, support families, and enhance access to quality education for all.

Summary of Responsibilities


  • Generates both marketing and editorial/journalistic written content for a variety of platforms including but not limited to brochures, magazines, newsletters, news articles and releases, advertisements, video scripts, web sites, social media and to a variety of constituents within School of Education and the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism.
  • Plans, creates, executes, and measures effectiveness of marketing and recruitment plans and accompanying collateral. Investigates and develops student and faculty success stories for use in internal and external marketing material. Manages and implements an on and off-line lead generation recruitment program. Directs and implements SEO and website management systems. Coordinates with vendors to develop and execute digital advertising and monitors and optimizes using the resulting analytics. In collaboration with University Marketing, manages integrated marketing strategies and tactics.
  • Vets the achievements of the School of Education and the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism for newsworthiness and prepares them for potential publication, works closely with University Marketing and Communications to coordinate news coverage, and monitors resultant news coverage.
  • Assists in the design and coordinates the production process of School of Education and the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism communication and marketing collateral and adheres to and enforces university style and branding standards.
  • Drives the School of Education and the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism social media presence and initiatives. Creates, publishes, and monitors social media content. Builds and interacts with the School of Education and the Melisa Nellesen Center for Autism social media community in collaboration with the University's social media efforts.


Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree, plus one year of marketing/design experience, OR a combination of relevant education and experience totaling five years.

Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, OR a related field and 2-4 years of related experience.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of marketing and communications best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design principles and applications, including the Adobe Suite.
  • Knowledge of lead generation, SEO, data analysis, as well as online and print advertising best practices.
  • Knowledge of core marketing metrics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best social media practices and digital marketing best practices and platforms.
  • Knowledge and experience in organizing integrated promotional conversion strategies across diverse audience segments.
  • Knowledge and experience in building out CRM initiatives to build audience loyalty strategies.
  • Knowledge and experience in identifying market and brand awareness weaknesses/deficiencies.
  • Knowledge, experience, and track record of managing and optimizing campaigns to meet campaign targets.
